Custom web design for the Motorcycle Industry

A great web site doesn't have to cost the earth. As director of Web Enterprise Solutions and a keen biker and motorcycle racer, Rick Kwok understands online marketing and the challenges you face as a business.
The motorcycle industry is booming with more and more people taking to 2 wheels. In Australia, good motorcycle dealers and workshops are hard to find. With the size of the country and the small population, your customers will go to anyone who can supply them what they need and usually they are not local.
How do your new customers find you?
Word of mouth is the usual answer. Years of delivering good service have earned you a reputation amongst the motorcycling community, yet no-one knows about you except your existing customers. How far can their word spread for you and how fast?
Google It!
How many times have you heard it? If you want to find anything these days, you don't use the Yellow Pages. You Google it. More and more people are using Google to search the web for parts and specialist services, how are you taking advantage of this trend?
It starts with a good web site...
A good web site is an investment in your business, much the same as placing an advertisement in Cycle Torque, Two Wheels, AMCN and other publications. You wouldn't pay good money to advertise if you didn't think it would pay for itself in additional business. The same applies to your web site. It is a place to advertise your business, but more importantly, it is much cheaper than advertising in a magazine and once you've set it up, it costs virtually nothing to run.
A good web site is one that talks to your customers and builds your credibility, ultimately encouraging them to either contact you or buy from you. Too often we see web sites that talk a lot, but not to any particular audience. Within the motorcycle industry, there are a few very good web sites, a lot of mediocre ones but more worrying is a lot of shops have no web site at all.
A good web site will complement your current marketing strategies and drive customers to your shop. With limited budgets, many shops resort to creating their own web sites, with predictable results.
... and ends with search engine marketing
So, you've built a great web site, now you need people to find it. Make sure your customers know about it first. Advertise your web address on business cards, brochures and print advertisements. To get new customers, you need to be found in Google, Yahoo! and NineMSN. With millions of web sites out there, how do you make sure your web site appears high up in the search results?
We call it search engine marketing. With some careful attention to content on your web site, you can improve your search engine visibility.
Know your customers and what they search for. For example,
- "Yamaha SR500 race cam"
- "Powercommander for Honda Fireblade CBR954"
- "Road race engine tuning CBR600RR"
- "Spoked wheel repairs Sydney"
- "Dainese racing leathers Sydney"
Then work backwards with your web site to make sure you are found under those search keywords
